All four kids have special needs

I have an 11-year-old, a nine-year-old and twin six-year-olds. All four kids have special needs. We have to go to the children’s hospital in Portland a lot. I have one son who has a rare motility disorder—he has what looks like seizures if he eats the wrong types of foods—and I have one child who is autistic. There were some complications when the twins were born, and when they got older, we realized they had some problems too.

We needed help from the food pantry when my husband and I got divorced. A lot of our fresh food and produce comes from the food bank. We use SNAP to buy milk and things that we aren’t getting from the food pantry. When our SNAP benefits are cut next month, we will have less food. It will run out.
