Tell Congress not to cut SNAP (food stamps)
A proposal to cut the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly known as food stamps) by $4 – 5 billion has been circulated in Congress as they work on a federal deficit reduction plan. We are strongly opposed to cuts to SNAP as part of deficit reduction. Cutting the nutrition safety net is the wrong way to balance the budget.
Food bank resources are stretched to the breaking point and any cuts to nutrition assistance would be devastating for struggling families and our community. Charity simply cannot make up the difference if Congress cuts these programs.

Tell your Senators to oppose the House's cuts to the Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)
The WIC Program provides critical nutrition assistance to low-income women, infants and young children. At the funding level included in the bill, up to 500,000 mothers and young children could be turned away. We ask you to urge your senators to oppose the proposed cuts in HR 2112.
