Hunger can't wait. Hunger in Washington County is rising at an alarming rate — at one-and-a-half times the rate statewide. To meet the growing need, OFB needs to grow as well.
We need your help to turn OFB West into a permanent processing, distribution, education and community meeting facility. A place where neighbors gather to fight hunger and feed hope. With your support, we can realize the vision of a community in which everyone has access to nutritious food.
OFB West Capital Campaign nearing goal
- Construction of OFB West, located in Beaverton at 1870 N.W. 173rd at Cornell Road, is in the home stretch. The renovated 35,000 square-foot facility is critical to improving hunger-relief efforts in Washington County and expanding the statewide supply of produce and other high-quality perishables. Construction crews are completing the final details on the facility.
- Essential food bank functions transferred from the Hillsboro warehouse to the renovated facility in July. OFB West will facilitate the distribution of an additional 1.5 million pounds of donated food per year within three years. This allows OFB to expand its nutrition and gardening education programs and welcome thousands of westside volunteers.
- The capital campaign has raised $6.9 million toward our $8.5 million goal. With the community’s support, we’re confident we can meet the challenge and complete the campaign in a few months!
