Summer Harvest Share

Thanks to a generous private donation, Oregon Food Bank - Metro Services expanded its Harvest Share program with a focus on providing nutritious produce to children and supporting local farmers.

The donated funds allowed OFB to purchase produce directly from Clackamas County produce stand operator, Justy Papst, who supplies his stand with produce grown by local farmers.

The pilot program served low-income families at two Summer Lunch Program sites in Milwaukie, providing nutritious produce to more than 1,789 adults and 2,275 children at five weekly Wednesday distributions this summer. In total, 42,700 pounds of produce was distributed to families in need.
