Corporate donor of the month: Bank of America

January 7, 2014

We thank you Bank of America, and your employees, customers, and friends who tirelessly support Oregon Food Bank.

Bank of America continues to play an integral role in hunger relief. On a national level, Bank of America through its’ partnership with Feeding America provided a 2 for 1 match to donations online and through their ATMs. Last year, (2012) the efforts provided an additional 5,000 meals in Oregon and Clark County, Wash.

Locally, Bank of America employees engage to help with hunger relief. They donate their time (over 1,100 volunteer hours in FY 2013), their financial resources through company sponsorship and employee giving as well as through food drives at branch locations.

Bank of America provides some unique opportunities which engage the community in efforts to eliminate hunger and its root causes. Last January Bank of America employees came out in full force to support Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Bank of America funded a portion of the food purchase and employees and their families spent several hours at OFB and OFB West. They will be back in full force this month! In July, Bank of America partnered with KINK and New Seasons Market to sell the HomeGrown CD with all proceeds benefitting OFB. And this fall, Bank of America partnered with KGW to promote a local PSA about the importance of volunteerism.

Bank of America’s dedication and support challenges OFB to reach further and deeper… because no one should be hungry. Thank you from all of us at Oregon Food Bank.
