Last year Intel employees volunteered 2,581 hours at Oregon Food Bank, more than any other corporate partner. That’s just one of the ways that Intel brings its strong culture of community involvement to life through strong partnership with Oregon Food Bank and many other community nonprofits.
“Intel’s commitment to community is highly visible here at OFB,” says Sarah Schirmer, OFB’s corporate gifts developer. “In addition to providing strong volunteer support, Intel sponsors events, holds food and fund drives and helps OFB build strong connections in our community.”
Here are a few outstanding examples:
Intel connected OFB with the Encore Program in Portland. The program provides career fellowships for Intel employees who are planning to retire and want to transition into nonprofit work to help organizations to help build capacity and efficiencies.
Intel holds regular food drives for OFB and keeps a year-round focus on hunger relief. Last year, multi-campus food drives delivered over 15,000 pounds of food.
And an enthusiastic and well supported employee giving campaign raised more than $115,000 to help OFB fight hunger.
From all of us at Oregon Food Bank, a big thank you to Intel for all that you do in our community … because no one should be hungry.
