Through innovation, excellence, good stewardship and working together through their organization, Providence continues to lead change to improve the health of our communities.
The Providence Mission reaches out beyond the walls of care settings to touch lives in the places where relief, comfort and care are needed. Their community benefit spending is about treating not just the patient and family, but the total health of the community. Through programs and donations, Providence’s community benefit connects families with preventive care to keep them healthy, fills gaps in community services and provides opportunities that bring hope in difficult times.
Providence employees are connected to OFB’s mission and the communities we both serve. Collectively, Providence employees donated over 765 volunteer hours to OFB in FY 2012, 6,300 lbs. of non-perishable food and $51,000. “Providence Health & Services’ deep engagement in the fight against hunger benefits the entire Network,” says Laura Golino de Lovato, OFB’s director of development, marketing and communications. “From volunteerism, support of signature events such as Oregon Harvest Dinner, to networking with other non- profits with similar visions and focus earns Providence a top recognition spot for OFB.”
From all of us at Oregon Food Bank, a big thank you to Providence Health & Services for all that you do in our community … because no one should be hungry.
