Doug Phillips Receives Jackie Fearing Award for Volunteer Excellence

Doug Philips is the winner of the 2013 Jackie Fearing Award for Volunteer Excellence!  

The Jackie Fearing Award honors a volunteer who has volunteered for Oregon Food Bank for over 5 years, contributed 500 hours of service, and volunteers in more than one capacity.  Doug Philips has been a faithful volunteer for over 7 years, logging over 1200 hours. 

In addition to being a Team Lead during Thursday evening VAC & FRC shifts, Doug has participated as a Team Captain in both the NALC Food Drive and the Waterfront Blues Festival. Additionally, Doug has been an advocate for Oregon Food Bank, volunteering for speaking engagements and tabling events, and is a member of the Speaker’s Bureau. 

Doug is friendly, gregarious, and dependable. His smile and infectious laugh increase the sense of community for all volunteers and staff who work with and around him.
