Summer is around the corner and while you're probably planning getaways and barbecues, many of your neighbors are worrying about how they'll feed their families. Because Hunger Doesn't Take a Break – especially here in the Northwest. But you can take a bite out of hunger. Every ten dollars donated provides thirty meals for people in need. We invite you to join Senator Merkley by donating online or by stopping in to purchase an apple.

I think deep in their hearts everybody wants to be self-reliant; they don’t want to depend on other people. It used to be you worked 40 hours and you got some benefits, like retirement and health care. Now all the companies are saying, “We can get rid of all these benefits and just hire part-time.”

The energy, dedication and focus we feel when Nike employees volunteer is contagious! Employees always bring their A game to a volunteer shift and make short work of any project we present to them. Last year, employees donated over 1,283 hours to OFB packing thousands of meals for statewide distribution!

When Felicia lost her job she felt certain that she could find another. She spent months submitting applications and following job leads but nothing materialized. Finally, with just $37 to her name, she realized she needed help.
The people she met at her local food pantry helped her regain her confidence and renewed her physically and emotionally. Felicia believes that lives would be changed if everyone reached out to someone in need.
