“As soon as the recession hit, I was homeless. I was trying to find a job, a place, but nothing worked out and I just got caught up in the homeless cycle,” said Chris, a regular visitor to The Underground at Clay Street Table. Every week, The Underground provides community, meals and support to youth and young adults struggling with homelessness.

Clay Street Table is one of hundreds of partner agencies supported through your donations to Oregon Food Bank. Each week, they feed people living in downtown Portland and struggling with hunger. In addition, Commissioner Saltzman has raised awareness among his colleagues by spearheading two food repack shifts in the last year for City of Portland employees.
