  • Regence funds project to implement screening and intervention for food insecurity

    Oregon’s food insecurity rate remains high, especially among children. More than a quarter of children in Oregon don’t always know where their next meal is coming from. Thanks to the generous support of Regence, the Childhood Hunger Coalition and Oregon Food Bank are expanding our screen and intervene model, which identifies people who are food insecure in medical clinics and links them to food assistance and nutrition education resources.

    Doug Philips is the winner of the 2013 Jackie Fearing Award for Volunteer Excellence!  The Jackie Fearing Award honors a volunteer who has volunteered for Oregon Food Bank for over 5 years, contributed 500 hours of service, and volunteers in more than one capacity.

  • State of Oregon employees do their part to stop hunger

    State of Oregon employees once again went above and beyond in their efforts to raise food and funds for hungry Oregonians. The 2014 Governor’s State Employees Food Drive collected $755,895 and 92,388 pounds of food. That’s the equivalent of over two million meals.
