From bagging apples to collecting canned food at the Waterfront Blues Festival, corporate groups help us collect and process millions of pounds of food each year.
To schedule your group
- Look at the list of projects below and pick the one that works best for your group.
- Fill out our group application online.
- Group shifts fill quickly, so it's best to schedule at least two months in advance.
Group volunteer projects
Volunteer Action Center
Repack bulk foods into family sized packages.
- Minimum age: 6 years old.
- Maximum group size: 75 adults or 35 children.

Dig, weed, water and more!
- All ages welcome.
- Maximum group size: 15

Perishables Repack Room
Repack frozen foods into family sized packages.
- Minimum age: varies based on location.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds is required.
- Maximum group size: 50

Special Events
Help box food drive food at the Waterfront Blues Festival or the National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive.
National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive
- Minimum age: 16
- Maximum group size: 20 (but depends on the post office)
- Location: 31 different post offices in the Portland area
- Date: second Saturday in May
- Scheduling starts around April 9
Waterfront Blues Festival
- Minimum age: 16
- Maximum group size: 25
- Location: Tom McCall Waterfront Park
- Date: Fourth of July weekend
- Scheduling starts around May 24
Additional opportunities for corporate groups
- Scheduling a meeting before or after your volunteer shift? Our community rooms accommodate up to 30 people and are available on a first-come-first-served basis. To schedule the meeting rooms, please include the request in your e-mail to volunteer@oregonfoodbank.org or in the notes section of the group application.
