Oregon Food Bank thrives on the support of all types of service and community groups. By working together, volunteers make an immediate impact to help fight hunger in the Portland metro area and across the state.
Scheduling
- Volunteer spots fill quickly, so it is best to sign up a few months in advance.
- Different opportunities have different restrictions, so please read below to select the best project for your group.
- Once you have picked a project, sign up by filling out the group volunteer application.
Family Friendly Projects
Volunteer Action Center
Repack bulk foods into family sized packages.
- Minimum age: 6 years old
- Maximum group size: 75 adults or 35 children

Special Events
Box food donations at the Waterfront Blues Festival or the National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive.
National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive
- Maximum group size: 20 (but depends on the post office)
- Location: 31 different post offices in the Portland area
- Date: second Saturday in May
- Scheduling starts around April 9.
Waterfront Blues Festival
- Maximum group size: 25
- Location: Tom McCall Waterfront Park
- Date: Fourth of July weekend
- Scheduling starts around May 24.
