Synopsis of key components of Oregon Food Bank's 2003-2007 strategic plan

Key Initiatives

  • Expand the quantity and quality of food available to feed hungry people through retail recovery and other programs.
  • Support expansion of the OFB network’s capacity to collect and distribute food to hungry people throughout Oregon and Clark County, Washington.
  • Expand access to and participation in federal food and nutrition programs in Oregon.
  • Build a coalition of leaders engaged in formulating and implementing policies and programs to reduce hunger and its underlying causes.
  • Strengthen relationships that result in increased, new and stable sources of funds, volunteers, capital equipment and in-kind donations to support OFB programs.

Supporting Goals

  • The Board of Directors will lead and govern effectively to fulfill the mission, purpose and goals of Oregon Food Bank.
  • Support a work environment that values diversity, productive employees, progressive employment practices and employee development, and rewards excellence and long-term commitment to the organization.
