Demand for emergency food at all-time high, up 15 percent statewide
Requests for emergency food continue to reach record levels throughout Oregon.
According to the Oregon Food Bank Network of regional food banks, distribution of emergency food boxes increased 15 percent in Oregon between July 1 and March 31, 2009, compared to the same period last year.

Hunger hurts health New online course to provide health care professionals with tools to help families who are hungry
Now, doctors and nurses have a new tool to help them identify at-risk children and families to intervene in the clinical setting.
The Childhood Hunger Initiative (CHI), Oregon State University Extension Service and Oregon Food Bank jointly announce during Oregon Harvest Week a new, online course to help the medical community identify and work with children and families struggling with hunger.
