Hunger Red Rover: Destroying Hunger Myths
Summary: This team-building activity will
teach participants about hunger myths.
Time: 15 to 20 minutes
Age: Fourth grade to adult
Materials: Question and answer sheet for the facilitator
Preparation: None
Group size: 10 to 30
Procedure:
1. Divide the class (ideally a class of 20)
into two equal lines.
2. Explain that you will ask a series of questions
and that the answers will be numbers between one and 10. Have
group members discuss each question for 60 seconds and decide
on the correct answer. Tell teams to present their answer by asking
that many students to step forward from the line.
3. Tell them the correct answer.
4. After finishing the questions, lead a brief discussion
about what the students thought about the activity and how their
ideas might have changed. See discussion questions below.
