Eastside Learning Garden programs
The Eastside Learning Garden at OFB's northeast Portland facility includes more than 17,000 square feet of growing space; a container garden; three laying hens; 24 fruit trees; blueberry, currant and raspberry bushes; and a compost demonstration area. Three programs allow participants to grow nutritious produce, enjoy physical activity, increase gardening skills and support Oregon Food Bank. Programs include:

Dig In!
Community members help fight hunger by volunteering to grow wholesome, organic produce to be distributed at hunger-relief agencies in the Portland area. Individuals and groups are welcome. No prior gardening experience is necessary.

Seed to Supper
The Seed to Supper Program offers a free series of gardening workshops to individuals and low-income groups. Topics range from garden planning to harvesting. Low-income groups can schedule a workshop by contacting Rebecca Siplak at 503-282-0555, Ext. 268, or rsiplak@oregonfoodbank.org.

Cultivating Community
The Cultivating Community program pairs at-risk youth with trained, adult mentors to work together in the Learning Garden. The program increases youth self-esteem and self-sufficiency.
