Volunteer for OFB's Nutrition Education program
Volunteers make OFB's Nutrition Education Program work. From shopping for recipe ingredients to leading classes, there are many ways to get involved.
Volunteer to assist with a six-week class series
Volunteers work in teams to lead participants in preparing and cooking the week's menu, eating, cleaning up and sharing tips on cooking, budgeting and more. Most participants receive a take-home grocery bag of ingredients to help them practice what they learned in class during the week. Volunteers act as chef instructors, lead assistants or shoppers.
Each volunteer must commit to the six-week series of classes and to attending an orientation session one week before classes begin. Classes are held mornings afternoons or evenings at the same time each week and are two hours per session. OFB schedules classes on-site at its teaching kitchen and at off-site locations. Volunteers must be ages 18 and up.
