Sponsor a household for the holidays

Hunger is a year-round issue. But it is especially hard to do without food during the holiday season.

What is Washington County Holiday Basket?
It's specifically for Washington County residents who need help during the holiday season.

Oregon Food Bank-Washington County Services is transferring full coordination of the Holiday Basket Program over to Salvation Army.  The Holiday Basket Program will now be known as the Washington County Holiday Basket Program.

Washington County Holiday Basket matches low-income children, seniors citizens and households with sponsors who provide food for a brighter holiday.

Last year, more than 4,700 Washington County households received holiday baskets through this program.

This program is also an opportunity for us to share hunger issues with the community.

Who qualifies for the program?

Households or individuals who

  • meet low-income guidelines
  • declare a need for sponsorship and
  • live in Washington County.

How do I apply for a Holiday Basket?
Apply at one of the five on-site application sessions listed below. Beginning October 22, 2007, you can apply online at www.help4holiday.org. The Washington County Holiday Basket Program handles applications on a first-come, first-served basis.  Submission of an application does not guarantee service.  Washington County Holiday Basket is primarily for food assistance, there is no guarantee of gifts.  Program coordinators will contact you if your application is accepted.
