Martin Luther King Jr. Day “Equity Foundations” Training
January 18 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
| FreeMLK Day Equity Foundations Training
Monday, January 18 || 9:00am – 2:00pm || via Zoom
Though we cannot be together in person, Oregon Food Bank is pleased to host a virtual version of our Equity Foundations training. This session is an introduction to understanding the systemic inequities that drive hunger and poverty — and the steps we can all take together to address these challenges at their roots.
Join us in this half-day gathering as we discuss topics including:
- Foundational concepts of culture, identity and systemic inequities
- How to build self-awareness and understanding of our cultural differences and how we tend to navigate them
- Concrete, practical strategies to promote equity in our daily lives and the workplace
The application of equity at the organizational and institutional levels can drive lasting, meaningful change, and we hope attendees leave equipped with a few tools to do so.
Let us gather together to honor Rev. King’s legacy by engaging in acts of service with a purpose — to promote the racial justice and anti-poverty work that is vital to ending hunger for good!
