In answer to Dr. King’s famous call to action – “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is ‘What are you doing for others?’” – Congress passed this sanctioned Day of Service challenging Americans to transform the King Holiday into a day of citizen action.

Volunteers from Bank of America, Pacific Power, and many other local companies along with individuals and families will process over 100,000 pounds of food – equivalent to more than 83,000 meals.

Volunteer positions for this year’s MLK Jr. Day of Service are full but those interested in helping can sign up for a future volunteer shift at oregonfoodbank.org/volunteer.

For the sixth straight year, Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service at Oregon Food Bank is presented by Bank of America with additional funding support from Pacific Power.
