Final days of Hunger Action Month 2016

September 26, 2016 – As fall begins to show its colors, the 2016 Hunger Action Month approaches the end. It has been a busy and exciting time at Oregon Food Bank.

We launched a new look while standing behind our mission: To eliminate hunger and its root causes… because no one should be hungry. You may have seen the new look on one of our many trucks, the tail of a Trimet bus, or on a sign in the yard of a supporter. We believe this look and logo reflects what Oregon Food Bank is all about and emphasizes the new programs and opportunities we have taken on.

On September 19, 2016, Oregon Governor Kate Brown declared September as Hunger Action Month. We are grateful to have a governor and state that recognize and work to help the thousands of Oregonians experiencing hunger. The proclamation was made possible by Peter Sarasohn, a Policy Fellow with Feeding America.

A big thank you to Parklane Mattresses for sponsoring our Hunger Action Month. We are grateful for their partnership to raise awareness of this issue. And to the thousands of people who engaged with us on social media and helped amplify the voice of people in our community experiencing hunger – thank you.

In this final week of Hunger Action Month, you can still take action to fight hunger in our communities.
