April 2024 Community Cultivator: Bob’s Red Mill

Oregon Food Bank is proud to announce Bob’s Red Mill as our April 2024 Community Cultivator!

Community Cultivators are engaged leaders who take action to advance food justice and eliminate hunger and its root causes. Oregon recently lost one of those leaders — Bob Moore founder and former CEO of Bob’s Red Mill. That’s why we have selected Bob’s Red Mill as our Community Cultivator for April — to honor Bob’s legacy and highlight the company’s ongoing commitment to ending hunger.

"Our long-standing commitment of partnering with Oregon Food Bank is fueled by our belief that everyone deserves access to nutritious food,” said Meghan Keeley, Bob’s Red Mill Vice President of Supply Chain. “Supporting Oregon Food Bank isn’t just about filling plates; it’s about nourishing our community.”

Bob’s Red Mill has been an active member of the Oregon Food Bank community for decades. In addition to donating millions of pounds of minimally-processed, meal-building staples to Oregon Food Bank and our partner agencies, Bob’s Red Mill has been a past sponsor of the KGW Great Food Drive to raise funds and collect food to fight hunger in the short and long term. The company has been a generous philanthropic partner of Oregon Food Bank with significant contributions and by providing incentives for donors to Willamette Week’s Give!Guide.

Bob Moore said, “Food is powerful. It breaks down walls and feeds the soul. We know it and we live it. We believe in good food for all.” We are so grateful for the hard work Bob’s Red Mill does to end hunger. Equitable food distribution practices, philanthropic initiatives and Bob Moore’s focus on people over profits are the bedrock of the Bob’s Red Mill commitment to food justice. To truly end hunger, we must focus on its root causes and Bob’s Red Mill is a crucial partner in our work.

Bob’s Red Mill, thank you for being part of the end of hunger in Oregon.
