September 2026 Community Cultivator: KPTV FOX 12 Oregon

Oregon Food Bank is proud to recognize KPTV FOX 12 as our September 2026 Community Cultivator.

KPTV FOX 12 serves our communities through amplifying critical news and stories that matter to Oregonians. When there is a deeper need for solidarity and support, KPTV FOX 12 rises to the occasion and leans into their strengths of resource mobilization and community support, rallying their supporters to help end hunger.

In 2025, we were facing a nationwide hunger crisis. In response, KPTV launched a campaign of giving, hosting 24-hour live news coverage and fundraising to support those facing food insecurity across Oregon. This campaign was a timely, rapid response to rising hunger, raising $101,000 and ensuring Oregon families’ continued access to nourishing, culturally meaningful food during this critical time. It was also an intentional message of hope and a call to action for our community to come together in support of those experiencing the devastating effects of continued federal funding cuts and delays to food assistance.

KPTV FOX 12 drives awareness and creates concrete and accessible ways for our communities to get involved. Through their year-round KPTV Hunger Free Project, they shed light on the state of hunger in Oregon and share the true story of hunger with our communities. These stories help reveal deeper systemic issues that lead to hunger and inequity.

As a media entity and a member of our community, KPTV FOX 12 uses their strengths to help end hunger.
